Advantages of ZicLok Ties :

Easy use
Coupling by just pulling the strap from the topside in. A freely choosable spot of the length can be connected in one move, without looking. Extra tensioning can be done in the same action.

Releasable and durable

Unlocking and removing of the strap is done in an easy and quick way by sidewards pulling of it. A tongue ensures the inserted position. Free choice of the kind of polymere, made possible by the effective use of the material and long time use are making the ZicLok tie a durable tool.

Speed
Quick connecting and reusability are opening a way to temporary bundling or attaching during a short time.

Strength
The ZicLok head pushes itself around the strap supporting the pawls with growing force, when the pulling forces grow. This is thanks to a newly developed mechanisme. The movement of the locking pawls teeth is very precise. This enables the user to reach a high bundling tension.

Low cost
The cable ties can be made of polymere in one piece by injection moulding in a simple two-piece mould. The product is very durable.

Invention
The ZicLok system is a simple coupling system that offers sidewards coupling in combination with high force performance. It differs fundamentally from all other kinds of high force multi-use tensionable strap-couplers, and beats them all in speed.

Future
Several applications of this system can be thought of, with different sizes and shapes, for technical use or to be used at home, in the garden, kitchen or DIY.
Production
ZicLok bundle straps can be produced by SLS 3Dprinting. Some are shown below. When printed with care these can be strong and flexible. The same model after some modifications could be produced by injection moulding, offering very high strength and finer teeth.

Biobind

Biobind ties make use of a somewhat different kind of the ZicLok coupling. Here the pawls are more integrated to achieve a smaller size of the head. A testmodel is produced by 3D printing of a rubberish material. These ties, like shown at the right, have been designed to bind living material like young trees. They are extra flexible and can be reused when the tree grows.

Attaching of these ties can be done in short time like all ZicLok ties. Some simple moves are enough. Releasing and attaching again is very simple, without the use of tools. When pressure-moulding these ties biodegradable plastic can be used, preventing pollution when ties occasionally may get lost.
